How Credits Work in ClackyAI

Token-Based Credit Consumption

Clacky uses a transparent token-based credits system:

  • Credit Calculation: Credits are deducted based on the number of tokens consumed during each conversation round with the AI
  • Deduction Timing: After each conversation round completes, the system calculates and deducts the corresponding credit amount based on token usage
  • Usage Transparency: You can track your token consumption and credit deductions in real-time on the usage page

Model Options

Clacky offers two AI models to suit different needs:

  • Clacky Premium: Best performance and output quality
  • Clacky Lite: Cost-effective option, using approximately 50% less credits compared to Premium

Choosing the Right Model:

You can select the model that best fits your project’s complexity and budget considerations:

  • Use Clacky Lite for: Small optimizations, code inquiries, general project questions, or straightforward tasks where cost-efficiency is a priority
  • Use Clacky Premium for: Complex implementations, critical features, tasks requiring the highest quality output, or when working with images and attachments

Best Practices for Credit Optimization:

  1. Avoid Frequent Model Switching: When you switch models mid-conversation:

    • The context cache cannot be transferred between models
    • The first message after switching will consume significantly more credits as the new model processes the full conversation history
    • Subsequent messages will return to normal credit consumption as the new cache builds up

  2. Clear History When Context Changes: If your next task is unrelated to the previous conversation, consider clearing the chat history. This prevents unnecessary context from being processed and reduces credit consumption.

Important Notes:

  • The 50% credit reduction is based on our internal sampling tests where we ran identical prompts on the same projects with the same conditions across both models. This represents an approximate saving, and actual credit usage may vary depending on specific tasks
  • Clacky Lite does not support image or file attachment recognition. When you upload images or attachments, the system will automatically switch to Clacky Premium to ensure proper processing
  • We continuously optimize our model selection based on the latest AI capabilities to provide you with the best experience

Daily Credit System

Credits Awarded:

  • Scheduled: UTC 00:00 daily
  • Actual delivery: UTC 00:00 to 01:00**
  • Amount: 100 credits

Credits Expiration:

  • Hard cutoff: Next UTC 00:00
  • Effective validity: 23-24 hours from award time
  • Non-rollover: Unused credits expire

Usage Priority:

  1. Daily credits (free)
  2. Limited-time credits (monthly subscription credits)
  3. Permanent credits (purchased)

**Note: Due to system processing, credit delivery may be delayed up to 60 minutes. Expiration occurs at the scheduled UTC 00:00 regardless of delivery time.
